Think about it.  When people want to decorate their house they go to a big box store or some place in the mall with fluorescent lighting and pick out a copy of a painting costing anywhere from $20 to $200.  Then they go to a framing shop and spend another $50-$200 for framing.  Now having spent $70-$400 they own something only a few thousand other people have.

What most people don't realize is that you can buy good quality original art often for less than you would have spent at the big box store and frame shop.  With an original weaving, sculpture, painting or pottery your money stays local and original art often appreciates in value over the years.  People respect and admire original work, passing it down to the next generation.  Best of all, no one else, anywhere, has another one just like it.

So, think about what you want in your home and contact a local gallery, art group or artist, ask for original art and remember "a thing of beauty is a joy forever."
