Medium:  metal, wood, paint & shadows to complete the art.

   Cindy is a native Nebraskan who lives in Harvard, NE.  With access to a family owned scrap yard Cindy was inspired to start creating sculpture from recycled metal.
   Cindy is currently working with a series of metal sculptures and shadow paintings.  "The idea sprung from the harsh shadows cast from one of my sculptures.  I have created sculptures from steel rod that are reminiscent of a three foot tall bent paper clip.  Many of Stec’s sculptures are accompanied by a painting of the sculpture's shadow.  As you turn the sculpture the shadows on the canvas change and you are not sure what is a real shadow or if it is painted.” 
   Her newest works explore the idea of bent shadows on wall sculptures.  The metal rods are straight and true the shadows wave and bend.  As the light changes the shadows change to complete the picture.
